点评:We drove to Texas. From Oklahoma all the way to San Antonio it was one long new construction. There are new highways, built to support the office, warehouse, apartments, and hotels every inch of the way. And all those businesses need the new subdivisions that accompany growth. You can drive 80 in spots but seldom do because of the traffic. Being from Chicago I can only describe it as over 500 miles of driving the Dan Ryan expressway. The Alamo is great. Sea World was meh for me. The Riverwalk was truly a disappointment. Go to Cancun, it's cheaper and more authentic. Needless to say I am a grumpy old guy that would rather hike in the woods than constantly be surrounded by thousands. There is authentic Texas, but you won't find it on I-35e. Actually, as a Chicagoan, I felt at home in downtown Dallas. We didn't get down to the border unfortunately. I would have liked to see the more arid desert area. Unless they covered it with subdivisions!
