Awesome place to visit, we are related to Daniel & it was fun to visit his last Kentucky home, it's been restored & looks fantastic, in a nice little spot in the hills.
Awesome place, I read up a lot about it as Daniel is related to us through his sister, him & his Wife lived in this cabin for about 4 years, until 1795 it belonged to his Son, Daniel Morgan Boone, it's in a beautiful location with a stream & Pond nearby in the hills, it's been upgraded & well maintained.
After Daniel applied to the Governor of Kentucky to try to get the Contact to widen the Wilderness road, he did not get the bid so he was so disgusted with Kentucky & still owing money from many things he moved to Missouri where he lived another 20 years & passed away there.
Loved this quaint little cabin. All ages appreciated this and had fun exploring it. Interesting photos of Daniel Boone. Good opportunity for the young ones to learn about him.
Wow. What a journey, as you see, feel, and know you are touching the history of one of Americans greatest sons. Where are the godly Daniel Boones of today?
