点评:We took two safari drives - the first was in the larger public “canter” seating 20. This was cheap, but extremely uncomfortable (very small leg room - both my wife and I are ~6ft and 170lb, so not large), and very noisy. Needless to say we did not see much - and certainly no tigers. The ride was about 3 hours on very bumpy terrain - we were expecting that, no complaints- and with very limited guiding. The next day we took a “private” jeep - actually the same as the previous day but in a smaller vehicle. The driver was over 30 minutes late picking us up, which is important at 5:30am. The vehicle would have been comfortable with 4 people, but with six it was dire. I was ordered from my seat by a man and his guide “because he had a camera” even though he was the last to board. He then spoke the whole time in Hindi with our “guide” (Lekhraj Singh) while the guide wasn’t arguing with the driver or reading texts on his phone. Everyone else on the jeep was English speaking, so we had no real idea why we were stopping, what to look at etc. We had to keep asking him to translate. We were traveling through sector 1 and every other jeep we saw had one or two people in it - only ours was crammed (I actually took photos of the others) leaving the distinct impression that we hadn’t bribed the right person. Given that we mainly saw deer until the very last minute, the whole trip was like an (expensive) excursion through New Jersey in the height of Summer with added monkeys. Finally, and thanks to the guide of another jeep, we saw (possibly) a glimpse of a tiger in the far distance, so that’s something I suppose. We knew that seeing tigers would be a bonus, not a guarantee, but my score is related to the service, total absence of comfort (it was like being in a Japanese reality TV challenge show) and awful guide. Save your money and watch a David Attenborough video or visit Animal Kingdom. There are much better things to do with your time in India
