点评:ACTUALLY VISITED SEPT 2019 … My Review has been sitting in DRAFTS and never POSTED. MY MISTAKE I GUESS BUT AM SUBMITTING NOW SINCE I HAD TAKEN THE TIME TO WRITE IT BACK THEN. HERE IS WHAT I WROTE AT THAT TIME:
We were on our way to the FDR Library and happened to see the signs for the Martin Van Buren home. We decided to stop and check it out. The grounds here are nice and well kept. You can see the home’s exterior and walk around the grounds. If you want to see inside the home, you will need to do the tour which lasts an hour. We did not have time for the tour this stop, but we took some time to walk around the grounds and see the home’s exterior. Many dignitaries stopped here to see Martin Van Buren as they journeyed to Washington, and we saw the last preserved part of the road they traveled. We were unaware this was along our path but we were glad we made a brief stop to see it. There are actually a number of historic sites in this part of the country!
