Unique experience, highly recommend
Nina's Ark Wildlife Sanctuary的点评
点评：This is a memorable experience which we highly recommend.
Access is by an 8km unsealed road. The track is firm and well graded, but requires an SUV due to high grass in the centre of the track.
There are 2 glamping tents, and one cabin. We stayed one night in a glamping tent. Ours had a deck, with two sun lounges. The tent is elevated on a deck, accessed by about 4 steps. Inside is 2 single beds. There’s electricity, with bed lamps and a fan.
There’s a shared hot shower and a flushing toilet.
There’s also a camp kitchen, with a fridge.
We were the only people there, so we had everything to ourselves.
We arrived at about 3pm. On arrival we were warmly greeted by Nina and Malcolm.
During the afternoon, we were given a personal and informative tour. This included meeting kangaroos, curlews, sugar gliders, frogs, possums and infant joeys (which we were able to hold). Later on there was a kangaroo calling.
There was then plenty of time to relax on the deck, and absorb the peaceful environment and watch the sunset.
At dusk we then fed possums and sugar gliders.
We then sat around a campfire and shared dinner and stories with our hosts. Dinner was plentiful and included sausages, potatoes, salad and dessert.
The following morning we observed another kangaroo calling.
Overall our stay was a unique interactive experience which we highly recommend. Nina and Malcolm are wonderful hosts, doing amazing work caring for orphaned and injured animals.
