点评:This is a great park in the Southern Appalachians. When I visited in early April, spring had not quite arrived, and thankfully it was not super crowded. I spent most of my time in the Clingmans Dome area. After checking out the observation deck (unfortunately it was foggy and there were no views), I hiked a bit of the Appalachian Trail before trekking to Andrews Bald, when the sky opened up to a pretty vista.
It was quite cold when I arrived in the morning, and parking was not an issue. There were some snow flurries, and later in the day there was even a closure of the main road through the park due to the possibility of ice. If you're not able to hike to a waterfall, Meigs Falls, off Little River Gorge Road, is a nice option. While not as spectacular as other national parks, it's still a beautiful place to spend a day.
