点评:Langsett and surrounding moorland is beautiful. However I am concerned at the number of dog walkers with dogs roaming off-lead on the open access land alongside the Little Don River and onto the moors despite signs clearly stating the legal requirement for dogs be kept on a short lead 1st March - 31st July to to protect ground nesting birds and livestock. Perhaps the signs need to be clearer? Perhaps wardens/rangers should be present to remind / educate dog walkers of this and the reasons why and even better enforcement of this law with fines given. Our beautiful British wildlife needs all the help it can get with shocking declines of skylarks and curlews in recent years. I’m not sure what the big picture solution is here but I feel we could all take more responsibility for respecting the countryside so many of us enjoy with our families and dogs and follow the laws put place to protect it.
