点评：You need a tour ticket to get into the Capitol building. This can be done online (need to create an account) or go to the visitor center and hope there are spots left. Follow the signs around Capitol Square to the visitor center and get into the building after passing through security. The visitor center is on the level below down some stairs. There is a line specifically for people with tickets and those without. The tickets are free but you need a time slot booked in.
The tour starts with a movie about how the US government system works. A guided tour happens afterward where a tour guide leads you to some of the famous places around the building, primarily the crypt, rotunda, the statue gallery, and the old senate chamber. Walking through the building was quite interesting as well as learning about how the statues for the building are picked. The rotunda was an impressive thing to see with your own eye.
I thought it was worth the time to come and see the beauty and history of this iconic building. The knowledgeable tour guides help you learn something new. You can also book in to view the Senate if you have the time and interest. There is also a museum in the Visitor Center as well as a cafe and souvenir store. Interestingly, there is also a tunnel which connects to the Library of Congress.
