点评:The Rock Sound Ocean Hole is a few blocks east of Shermans Highway on the south edge of town. Roadside signage was non-existent along the zig-zag driving route my family & I followed to get there; but if you turn onto the road east that ends at Pink Beach, there is a side street on your right approx. 300 meters off Shermans that leads to a circle with a gazebo right across from the Ocean Hole viewing platform & water entry ladder. The tropical fish congregated at that edge of the inland saltwater Hole (clearly conditioned for handouts - PLEASE don't feed them), and the local 'potcake' stray dogs also know that area well.
As a point of unusual Island geology & geography, this Ocean Hole is worthy of a detour while you're in/near Rock Sound. There are a handful of aging educational signs posted around the surrounding park area, including a description of the saltwater fish species who live in the Hole while trying to evade the numerous seabirds who nest along the banks (incl. Yellow-crowned Night Herons). There are relatively short cliff edges at several points of access around the perimeter that can be used for jumping into the water, and the viewing platform ladder would be handy for water entry & exit. *BUT* this is an enter-at-your-own-risk situation which shouldn't be attempted without personal caution & trusted swimmers surrounding you. We chose to simply walk around the Hole, read the signs, and snap lots of photos on a sunny day in June. Worth a visit, not worth risking your life.
