Fun little museum, 10 min walk from Manila terminal 3
Philippine Air Force Aerospace Museum的点评
点评:This is a little museum just a few mins (hot) walk along the road from Manila Terminal 3. As stated elsewhere, ideal if you’re staying in the airport hotels or have an enforced stopover. We turned up at 15:45 and the museum was already closing - looks like a 16:00 closure, Rather than the advertised 17:00. However, the gate guys were kind enough to let me in, to both the outdoor aircraft park and the small inside museum.
I was not charged, but did need to leave some form of ID to get into the base.
Outside aircraft park was fun with some unusual aircraft. Was able to get in to some for photos and playing around - fun, especially as one was the Huey, and we’ve just got in from ‘Nam.
Inside, I only had Very little time. Nice little Mustang up close and personal and a few other cockpit bits, armaments, etc. didn’t see upstairs, but understand a small arms exhibit. Also a few dioramas, but will need to revisit to study them a bit more.
For an hour or two - well worth it, and my thanks to the gate guys for be generous with allowing us a (very) late entry.
I shall return!
