点评:Our URBNSURF Melbourne experience was a disappointing waste of time and money. No fun at all. It is it a great facility with nice people at check in and the hire shop.
Unfortunately, my son spent an hour in the water after a superficial 5-minute safety briefing with no instructor in the water with the group despite there being first timers.
Unfortunately, several of the group kept drifting into the wall and being crushed by the white-wash and the lack of instruction left the experience being horrible and prolonged.
When I raised this with the staff afterwards, they put me onto the operations manager who confirmed there was meant to be an instructor in the water with the group but they was not.
The operations manager told me he was aware of the situation at the end of the class but came across that was not in control and had no authority or competency to resolve the situation.
He said "sorry" about that but offered no real ownership or rectification for a poor experience where the operations and instructing were left to be desired to say the least.
I've been a sports instructor and would have through that checking levels and switching groups if necessary was something the facility should do.
From an operations perspective the manager should have some authority to offer a credit or discount on a future surf to try and counter the negative experience and review.
I'm left feeling the facility is in debt and that shows with the lack of instructors and poor training for operations staff that really have no clue what they're doing.
A regrettable experience for people with time and money to waste. You're better of hiring a board at the beach and getting tuition from people that care and can offer tips.
