Great place to camp at that is close to Wash DC.
Cedarville State Forest的点评
点评：I like camping as I travel to see family. I camped at Cedarville State Park and had a wonderful 3 days/nights using it as my base camp to visit Wash DC and my family.
Two friendly rangers, Cierra and Kera (sp), checked me in to a lovely spot with electricity that was very close to the showerhouse.
Note: I took a chance and was able to obtain a site without having to make a reservation in advance. I was probably lucky, but I recommend to others to reserve a spot in advance!
I found out the first night that the electricity at my site was not working and after I reported it in the morning, Ranger Cierra came out and promptly corrected the issue.
My site was level & clean, had a sturdy picnic table and a firepit. The walks to the showerhouse were graded with nice small dark pebbles and the showerhouse was decent for a campground. Water was very close to me also.
There was a dump station, recycling bins, garbage receptical within walking distance from the camping area. You can also purchase firewood to burn there.
All of the rangers/workers and my fellow neighbors seemed very friendly and the camp filled up with more neighbors over the weekend.
I did not use the other areas of the park but there are more things to do there.
Maybe it was the time of the year but I only saw a few insects.
I enjoyed my time there and would return without any hesitation. You can not beat the small cost of staying at a campsite compared to the expense of a motel room so close to Wash DC.
