点评:This museum is by far the best of the museums in San Marino. The museum is laid out logically, if slightly disjointed. The archaeology, antiquities and numismatics are exhibited in the basement and ground. The first and second floors are mainly devoted to art and cultural objects.
One of the best exhibits in the museum is the Domagnano Treasure, a collection of jewellery of Ostrogothic origin, dating back to the 5th and 6th centuries. Some of the best artworks are the baroque paintings that date to the 16th and 17th century on the first floor, including works by Antonio di Padova. Most of the paintings are religious in nature or secular art of the 18th century.
Overall, the museum isn’t that big for a national museum. It’s still a good museum with lots to see and something for everyone, including children. The exhibits are well curated, well cared for and there’s plenty of English and Italian labels.
