Let the bike take the strain

点评：My daughter bought a voucher to use two bikes for my birthday. Such a great idea for a gift. We used the voucher yesterday contacting Simon the day before to check availability. We booked online using the voucher code and received confirmation with instructions for all the sites including ideas for routes. There was also a useful video showing how to use the bike. This was very helpful as neither my wife or l had ridden an electric cycle before. I should also say that we do not cycle regularly and therefore we were concerned about our fitness ( both 65 years old).
We had chosen Aldeburgh, as our collection location as we planned to ride to Walberswick via Dunwich.
Simon met us at Aldeburgh and gave us thorough instructions and allowed to get used to the bikes before setting off. I was surprised at the level of assistance the bikes provided and how easy they were to operate.
Our route took us to Thorpeness along mostly footpaths and road and then we went off road along the coast path to Sizewell and Dunwich Heath where we stopped for coffee and cake. Then onto Dunwich via road and Walberswick where we had lunch. We came back via Westleton and Leiston then turned left back towards Leiston beach to pick up the coastal footpath to Thorpeness. Another cup of tea and cake before returning to Aldeburgh.
We were worried when the battery wouldn't get us back but we arrived safely back to the collection point and secured the bikes with the lock provided.
It was an amazing experience and allowed us to travel approximately 30 miles which we could never have completed on a mountain bike. I felt we had exercised but the bike took the strain.
I would recommend hiring the bikes to see the countryside effortlessly.
