点评：What a delightful small castle on the way from Normandy to Paris! We learned of Château de Carrouges by personal recommendation and stopped because it was right on our way to Paris coming from the north. Unlike many of the grand castles and palaces you'll find in Europe, Carrouges is constructed largely of red brick, which gives it a distinctive character. It has a fairy-tale moat and grand entry gate and a lovely courtyard where you both enter and exit the castle apartments. Be sure to walk the whole way around the building - every corner gives you lovely views of the property, especially if you visit on a sunny day. Fun fact: on a pilgrimage to the magnificent Mont Saint-Michel monastery, King Louis XI visited in 1473. Strong recommendation here for a castle where you won't be surrounded by tourists but will be surrounded by plenty of history.
