Different To What We Are Used To
Elephant Camp Sanctuary的点评
点评：We visited out of curiosity to see how the animals were treated, the two elephants were chained to trees in the shade and had a keeper with them at all times, the horse had no shelter or water (32 degrees), there were two Iguana’s in a small cage. Lots of birds, some in a big Avery but some in small cages, there were a few birds just roaming around, we were told that the elephants were violent/unhappy today so not to go near them, the description is just a language difference, to be honest we didn’t want to disturb them, some of the elephants were at festivals. There was a camel in the shade but had his saddle on waiting to do rides, we declined. To be fair the animals did look well fed but the conditions some are kept in isn’t ideal, there is a lot of building work going on so hopefully they intend to improve things. Maybe it’s just cultural differences, do we treat our horses/cows any better I’m not sure. I wouldn’t go again but wanted to see for myself, there was no charge, we just gave the ‘Papas’ a contribution
