点评：Family was looking for an earlier morning activity to do while traveling into Minnesota. We visited the Belwin Conservancy, which is located just a few miles from I-94. We started our visited by stopping at the Bison Prairie area. There was a large herd of bison out that morning, but they were pretty far off in the distance. We climbed the observation deck to get a better view of both the bison and the prairie.
We also hiked a portion of the Tallgrass Trails which have an entrance located right across the street from the parking lot for the Bison Prairie. As the name implies, the trail has a lot of prairie tallgrass all around the paths. There’s also a beautiful section closer to the river that has plenty of trees and shade. During our hike, we also saw a few sculptures that were place along the trails.
It was a good way to spend 1-2 hours, and the observatory and hiking trails were open and free to the public.
