Nice beach could be truly beautiful with less litter

点评：A sandy beach in a wide bay. A pretty good effort by the local authority to create a clean, safe beach with facilities. Unlike many other Indian beaches, food vendors and hawkers are kept off the actual beach and confined to an area behind and along the approach road and it is not over-run with quad bikes, horse/camel rides, towed inflatables, speedboats, jet-skis and parascenders. The latter activities are fairly low key and seem to be centrally managed, e.g. boat ride booking from a central kiosk. There is a roped off safe area for swimming and splashing around with police/lifeguard post (to keep away from rip tides and boats). There are toilets and changing facilities and good selection of stalls, barrows and dhabas for food and drink. The immediate area around the approach road where everybody crowds is kept clean, despite litter constantly being dropped, thanks to the heroic cleaners. Alas, the quantity of rubbish (especially plastic) washed up less than a hundred metres away and along the rest of the bay is disgraceful. A shame, since it results in a densely packed zone at just the south end of the bay (also maybe due to the small "safe" swimming area) and spoils what would be a beautiful walk along the shore. It's difficult to clean and maintain the cleanliness of such a large area, but a concerted clean-up and more bins (that are emptied) would help and the investment would seem worth it given the dependency of the local economy on this beach. Come on Rushikonda, you can make your wonderful asset truly beautiful! One more gripe: some more shade at the busy end of the beach would be nice: palms, banana plants or thatched sun shades perhaps?
