点评:We ran out of things to do in Athens and after doing some research we figured Delphi was one of the better day trips and we are glad we came. Delphi used to be home to a giant temple for Apollo, a stadium that predates the Olympics in Athens, a large Roman theatre, a very scenic valley and two lovely towns on either side to get a lunch (Delphi or Arachova). Tickets for the archeological site that includes the treasury of Athena, the Roman theatre, temple of Apollo and most of the ruins of the area is a steal at 6 Euros and gives you access to the nearby Delphi Archeological Museum.
Ticket booths are available at the museum and the entrance to the archaeological site. The tickets have two stubs to enter each area once so remember to hold on to it. There are bathrooms at the museum as well as water fountains to fill up the water bottles. The museum has a gift shop and a cafe but the gift shop was closed when we visited and we felt the cafe was a bit overpriced. Parking is limited in the area and we had better luck parking in Delphi which was about a 15 minute walk away from the site.
Bring good shoes, a water bottle, sunscreen and maybe a light snack as the archaeological site has plenty of stairs, uneven surfaces and some slippery rocks. We got there around 1 pm and found the crowds were starting to disperse by then but it might be worthwhile staying overnight and getting into the archaeological site right when it opens if you want the place to yourself.
We were able to rent a car for the day for 50 Euros and got a very fuel efficient car so our gas was less than 40 Euros getting to and from Delphi from Athens. There are tour busses that go out to the area that may be worth considering if you don't like driving narrow or winding roads or want to relax a bit as there are plenty of options from Athens.
There are other attractions nearby including the ancient gym and Sanctuary of Athena that are free to enter. The valley is also spectacular and there are some nice intermediate hikes in the area.
