点评:Oh what a night! I’m a native Texan and can now say I’ve been to the Cowboy Capital of the World! I recommend 11th Street Cowboy Bar Wednesday night dinner for a fun evening. Their website doesn’t have a lot of details so here is my takeaway for what we will do on our next visit.
1. Reserve a table ahead of time. Call the week before and secure reservations. They will tape off a table with your name on it. We arrived at 6:15pm and had a hard time finding a table for the 6 of us.
2. Admission is $2 per person. Side plate with baked potato and salad is an additional $6 per person. CASH ONLY! But they have ATMs available.
3. Bring your own meat. We brought steaks, asparagus, and cheese & crackers (someone brought sausage to grill which looked delicious). We also brought bottles of wine (They now offer a full bar). While they supply paper plates, seasonings and grilling utensils, we opted to bring our own. They start the charcoal grills around 5:30pm. The grill was extremely hot so it took skill to cook without burning the steaks.
4. We brought meat, asparagus, appetizers, extra napkins/paper towels, steak knives, plastic wine glasses, wine, wine opener, water bottles, tablecloth and grilling utensils. Their policy on what you can bring in might be different now. So be sure to check with them.
5. Weather is super important. The majority of the seating is open air. I wouldn’t bother coming if it is raining.
So here’s my schedule suggestion -
Call the week before to secure a table.
Show up around 30 minutes after they start the grills. Summer hours are different and begin after Easter. If you didn’t plan early enough to reserve a table I would suggest calling to find out when the doors open and arrive early.
Find your reserved table, throw a tablecloth on it and enjoy the appetizers you brought while drinking wine/beer. Enjoy the band and dance on the sawdust sprinkled dance floor.
After the grills are at the right temperature cook your meat and vegetables. Stand in the line to get your potatoes and salad. Enjoy your dinner. Be sure to talk with the people around you. We met a family from Australia who came to Bandera just for Wednesday night steak dinner!
