Not good value for money

点评：My friend and I went for a full day spa getaway which was £325 each. We knew we had 2 x 1 hour treatments each and use of the spa - however we only had a 10% discount on the lunch at the walled garden. We had starters and mains and a small glass of wine each and that came to £99! Service had been automatically added. We had also paid £6 for a bottle of still water (and that’s with the 10% off….) The food was nice enough- but service was average. My friends starter was cleared while I was still finishing mine.
I genuinely don’t mind paying for experiences like this if I feel I’m getting value for money but to be honest we felt ripped off- I don’t think you can offer a spa day and not include lunch in the package, even if it’s a set menu which you can then pay to upgrade.
There was no tea/coffee on arrival and the person showing us round didn’t explain we could buy drinks and take them in to the pool area- we only knew that later in the day when we asked.
The receptionist who took payment offered to hold payment while we made a complaint but my friend and I only had today off, back to work next week and no time to debate it next week.
The treatments themselves were lovely and the therapists excellent.
But overall, not value for money. I think we’ll go back to Calcot Manor in Tetbury for our next spa day.
