点评:I attended a Pensioners lunch on Wednesday, the 11th of December. Lovely venue good greeting with the drink and the menu which we had pre-selected looked on paper very tasty. However in reality three courses left me very hungry. The first course duck spring rolls with a plum sauce, pickle, cucumber, chilli and spring onion salad was delightful and thoroughly enjoyed, although others on my table complained that it was very cold the next course I selected rolled rib beef fondant potato, grilled tomato or mushrooms in a peppercorn sauce. And that was exactly what it was no veg whatsoever, even though those that had turkey had Brussels sprouts carrots beans et cetera. It was half a tomato a couple of wild mushrooms in the sauce and fondant potato.
The desert read - saffron, poached pear, mulled wine syrup, pear, vanilla, and ginger, compote and meringue. What I received was a white pear cooked well but absolutely no flavour whatsoever and certainly not any flavour of saffron which would’ve turned it yellow. the mulled wine syrup was a couple of little spots on the plate which you couldn’t decipher what it was there was no pear vanilla and ginger compote at all and the meringue was a couple of very small soft pink crumbs.
I was very disappointed and only the day before I’d attended another golf lunch which left me completely full plenty of veg for everybody After this lunch I went straight home and cook some tea. !!
I have to say the waiting staff worked very hard and nothing was too much trouble.

我不得不说,服务员非常努力,没有遇到什么麻烦。
