点评:Narlis Farm Cooking School was the highlight of our week in Sifnos.
Staying in Apollonia, Narlis was just a 900 metre walk to the farm. George and his wife Dina were incredibly welcoming. We chatted over coffee made from chick peas, fresh pastries and figs from the farm.
George told us the fascinating history of his family and the farm and then got onto the business of cooking. While everything was in the oven George walked us around the farm where we picked fresh tomatoes, figs and pears to take home and fed George’s goats.
Back to the dining table for lamb mastello (a Sifnian speciality), Greek salad, roasted vegetables and chickpeas and fava cream. We ate cheese (from George’s goats), olive oil from George’s olives and wine from George’s grapes. We finished with honey pie and grappa (that George also makes) and sat around the table drinking and chatting like old friends.
When we finally departed, we were each given a gift.
Highly recommend this experience. Do not hesitate- just book it.
