Seaton Beach and Chine的点评
点评：I really liked Seaton and the beach.
A small winding lane (mostly pedestrianised) with lots of little independent shops brings you down to the sea front.
The beach is all pebbles and slopes down into the sea. There is however a concrete esplanade down most of the length, and plastic boards have been added so wheelchairs and pushchairs can access the top part of the pebbles.
Despite it being a very hot week in the summer holidays, the beach wasn’t too busy and it was lovely to take a dip or two in the sea which was very clean and clear. Water shoes would help protect your feet from the pebbles.
There’s a toilet block, water points, a couple of ice cream kiosks and a cafe along the sea front itself and the town shops and cafes are very nearby. As we were staying for a week self catering, we found the town centre Tesco and Aldi more than adequate.
The harbour is at one end of the beach and the other end, after the esplanade, you can reach Seaton Hole beach which is even quieter and has some rock pools to explore. This end is also where too can reach the costal path to Beer which I walked and is very pleasant despite the hill!
There’s one small but well run amusement arcade opposite the main entrance to the beach.
Also in the town, a few minutes walk from the sea front is the tram which is a nice little excursion.
The whole area is really beautiful and I would definitely stay here again. We found enough to do a couple with young children also travelling with mobility restricted older parents.
