点评：Have been utilizing various services from Alcona Canoe over the last 30 years; 9 years with the current ownership. July 2024 I called on a Friday to arrange for 3 tubes for the following day and was lucky to take advantage of someone else cancelling their trip. I confused our arrival time by an hour but Alcona Canoe was still able to accommodate our group with the earlier start time saving us an hour's wait and keeping the same equipment. The staff at the river launch were quick in getting the various groups launched. They supplied a length of rope for us to secure our tubes together and wished us a good trip. Same crew welcomed us at the landing, asked how our float was and quickly secured our tubes and directed us to the bus. Our wait time on the bus was only about five minutes.
A few extras that are always appreciated at Alcona is the store for any last minutes supplies; bathrooms and showers and good equipment. If you need a place to stay, Alcona offers cabins and tent sites with firewood available on site.
The new (9 years) owners have done a fine job carrying on a great tradition by offering 'river folk' an easy and affordable way to enjoy the beauty of a float on the Au Sable river.
